We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant to Join Our Pack(TM) at Exceptional Pets Maricopa in Maricopa, AZ! This position will also include customer service and kennel attendant work.

Responsibilities:
A veterinary assistant provides animal care by determining animal requirements; conducting diagnostic procedures; assisting during operations; feeding and caring for animals; maintaining supplies and equipment; maintaining records.

Ensuring that clients and pets feel welcome and comfortable Assisting with customer service and kennel duties Assisting veterinarians to provide compassionate nursing care Performing cursory exams and prepping animals for aseptic surgery Monitoring anesthetic patients Cleaning, maintaining, and preparing surgical instruments and equipment Maintaining accurate medical records Filling prescriptions as directed by a veterinarian, and explaining prescription directions Assisting receptionists with check-in and checkout procedures and providing telephone support Performing various laboratory tests Suggesting dietary products and other services to clients Keeping our facilities clean and well maintained Performs other duties as assigned.
Veterinary Technician Skills and
Qualifications:
Knowledge of Animal Behavior, Animal Husbandry, Documentation Skills, Analyzing Information, Clinical Skills, creating a Safe, Effective Environment, Performing Diagnostic Procedures, Use of Medical Technologies, Attention to Detail, Patience, Verbal Communication Registered veterinary technicians (RVTs) must obtain state-issued credentials, which requires passing the VTNE & graduating from an accredited program with an associate degree Expertise &
Experience:

years of experience as a veterinary technician Displays a professional manner at all times Physical:
Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
Must be able to be on feet eight hours per day.
Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
