Summary:
Perform technical inspections of new construction for water, waste water, and recycled water infrastructure performed in the public right-of-way and private easements for all Global Water Utilities.
The inspector will oversee every aspect of the project from initial plan review to final acceptance, project close out and turn-over to Operations Staff.
This role is based out of the Global Water Headquarters located in the City of Maricopa.
Primary Duties:
Performs on-site inspections of water, sewer and reclaimed infrastructure to ensure compliance to Global Water's Design Guidelines and Specifications; Coordinates inspection activities with appropriate project owners, representatives, contractors, Fire Marshall, and City Staff; Completes a thorough review of the engineering drawings and specifications of new projects to ensure the design of utility systems meets Global Water's Specifications; Update and Maintain Global Water's Design Guidelines and Specifications; Coordinate appropriate field activities with Global Water's Operations Staff; Plans daily activities to allow time to check all assigned projects during a given workday.
Assist other departments with information concerning updates of projects and acceptance; Operates vehicle daily to make site visits.
Coordinate and monitors all required testing procedures and maintains a file on project test results; Investigate and resolve citizen and other complaints and perform related public relation activities; Monitors project sites for compliance of construction and public safety; Prepare daily logs on the project; listing the daily activities, progress, delays, weather, etc Executes a project close-out and acceptance procedure with contractor, municipality, and Global Water; Works with Global Water's Asset Management Consultant to ensure implementation of all new infrastructure; Minimum
Qualifications:
Knowledge of:
MAG and ADEQ specifications and details, and the practical application of these principles; 3 - 5 years experience with Construction practices, materials, details, specifications, symbols, terminology and codes Inspection procedures; Reading and Interpreting engineering drawings, blue prints, CAD drawings and engineering specifications; Ability to:
Determine defects in construction and recommend solutions to bring project into compliance; Work under pressure, give guidance to on-site contractors, and shut down all construction activities if necessary Must have a clean driving record with no restrictions.
