This position is for Ak-Chin Community members only.
The Harrah's Development System (HDS) is designed to integrate high potential Ak-Chin Community Members into key areas of the Casino Entertainment Industry. As an HDS Associate you will be provided with development opportunities to fulfill our Management Agreement with the Ak-Chin Community. You will gain knowledge, experience, and leadership skills that will enable you to advance into management positions.
Individuals going through the HDS program will rotate through a variety of positions within the casino. Participants will be exposed to line and staff functions, operations, management insight and company policies and practices that affect every aspect of the business.
This HDS program is approximately 4-5 years in length and will occur in three individual phases. Phase One includes an eighteen to twenty-four month rotation through each department in the Casino and Resort. Participants will be exposed to line and staff functions, operations, management insight and company policies and practices that affect every aspect of the business. Phase Two consists of an internship into a specific department of the Associate's interest. Associates will receive more in-depth training in front-line and Supervisory/Management positions within their selected department. During this period of approximately 2-3 years, Associates will be provided opportunities to develop the skills required for Supervisory/Management level positions. Phase three consists of the Associate selected into a specific department and position.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Must have a high school diploma, GED or must obtain diploma/GED within six months of hire.
Must have good organizational skills, good written and verbal communication skills.
Must be willing to work all shifts.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age
Must be an enrolled Ak-Chin Community member
Must pass licensing requirements
Must pass pre-employment screening and pre-employment drug test
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Must be able to get along with co-workers and work with a team.
To perform this job successfully, individuals must be able to perform each duty satisfactorily.
Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to maneuver to all areas of the casino.
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds
Must be able to push and pull up to 70 pounds.
Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working in assigned areas.
Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time (6-7 hours).
Must be able to operate a typewriter, computer, telephone, calculator and other necessary office equipment.
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Must be able to work in extreme temperature changes.
Must be able to tolerate cleaning chemicals without developing and allergic reaction.
Ability to climb ladders or use a lift that extends higher than 6 feet from the ground.
Must be able to work in areas containing high noise levels and secondary smokeEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
